Dynamic wrinkles such as worry lines, frown lines, crow's feet are normal and important features of the human face, but sometimes can portray a tired, angry or aged appearance

This treatment is used in adults for the improvement of lines caused by muscle movement in the upper third of the face

The treatment is injected into specific muscles, blocking the nerve impulses. This temporarily prevents the injected muscles from contracting and this in turn reduces surface skin creasing thus softening frown lines, worry lines and eye lines casued by and worsened with muscle movement.

The effect develops 3 - 7 days follwoing treatment, lasting approximately 3 - 4 months. With regular use the effect may continue for upto 6 months. The effect is reversible over time and will require top up treatment to maintain the desired effect.

Side Effects may include temporary redness, swelling or bruising, all of which generally subside within 24hrs.

Restylane is a crystal-clear, non-animal biodegradable gel based on a natural substance called hyaluronic acid.

Restylane is not extracted from animals and is safe without pre-testing.

Uses include wrinkle correction, lip contouring, lip enhancement and facial line treatment. Commonly treated areas include smile lines, frown lines, vertical lip lines and shallow scars.

The gel is injected into the skin in small amounts with a very fine needle.The lips and surrounding area are sensitive and some discomfort will be felt. The use of an anaesthetic cream for wrinkles or injectable anaesthetic for lips may alleviate some discomfort.

Side Effects: may include temporary redness, swelling, pain, itching, rash, bruising and tenderness at the implant site.They are mild to moderate and generally resolve quickly or within a few days of injection. The risks and limitations of treatment will be fully discussed at consultation.
